Ricky McElreath

Tennis Director

Ricky has been a tennis professional for over 30 years. He played college tennis at UNC-Charlotte. He then attended Dennis Van Der Meer’s Tennis University and received professional rating with the USPTA. He was the head tennis pro/manager of Laurel Wood Racquet Club in Asheboro for 14 years, then briefly head pro at Westside Tennis Club. In 1998 Ricky accepted the position as Tennis Director of Hamilton Lakes. He has taught tennis at every level from beginner to regional training centers. He still plays competitively and has been ranked as high as #2 in North Carolina in various age groups. He has won 3 State Doubles Championships in various age groups in North Carolina. Peter Copeland

Assistant Club Pro

Peter is a USPTA certified tennis instructor and coach with over 20 years of teaching experience. He was a captain of his High School tennis team in West Hartford, Connecticut, and walked on to the Guilford College team, graduating in 1998. Now a longtime Greensboro resident, he has worked with many top tennis professionals in town, including Fred Pfuhl, Jenni Goodling, Oscar Blacutt, Dave McCain, and Toby Curtiss. Peter has coached teams for Gate City, USTA, Greensboro College, and Lexington High School. On weekends over six years, he ran a successful youth league program, based at Mount Tabor High School, Winston Salem. Most recently he has worked at the High Point Country Club and as Head Tennis Pro at Ridgewood. His interests outside of tennis include teaching trumpet to his nephews, reading, swimming, and classic German automobiles. Peter looks forward to helping players of all ages and abilities at Hamilton Lakes with their tennis goals. Gail Roy

Pro Shop Manager

Gail has been a member of Hamilton Lakes for several years. Gail will assist Ricky in the Pro Shop and with court maintenance and preparation.


Stacey Adams

Pro Shop Attendant/Gate City Representative

Stacey moved to Greensboro with her husband and son in 2017, and began working in the Hamilton Lakes pro shop soon after. Stacey also works for GRETA, the local USTA Community Tennis Association, as the junior tennis coordinator. At Hamilton Lakes, Stacey assists with ladies night and acts as the HL Executive Committee Member for the Gate City Interclub league.
