Greetings Hamilton Lakes Members. The Board of Directors wishes you a Happy New Year and would like to fill you in on some changes and updates for the 2010 season.
The Hamilton Lakes Board of Directors is very pleased to announce the hiring of Tommy Starnes as the Hamilton Lakes Pool Social and Membership Manager for the upcoming season. In performing the duties of this position, Tommy will be handling all of our social functions as well as promoting membership at our Club. Some items to look forward to as the year progresses are new socials and other events, both during the summer pool season and off season. To promote membership, Tommy is responsible for targeting trial members from last year to assist them in becoming full members as well as marketing/promoting the March Membership drive. We are very excited for our club as we unanimously agree that this hiring will benefit Hamilton Lakes in significant ways.
Jean Eagan remains the club manager and she is currently busy creating a membership database as well as getting invoices out to all of you.
We are also excited to announce that both Gary Bouton and Tommy Starnes will return to run the Hamilton Lakes Café this summer. We look forward to Friday night dinners and great food at a great price.
Regarding the 2010 dues, we are very excited to report that dues will remain the same as they have been for the last 2 years. Even in tough economic times, we have been able to go 3 years with no assessments and this is our 3rd year with no increase in dues. However, since we are still under a tight financial situation, the referral credit for bringing in new members has been discontinued. Since the Club is owned by the members, the Board feels that the members will want to continue recruiting their friends and neighbors to keep the Club growing without increasing the dues. If you referred someone last year, we will still honor that discount for this year. You will be getting your dues invoice in the near future.
We implemented a bank draft program last August to pay dues and initiation fees. We currently have 86 members using that method to pay their dues and fees over time. If you are not on that plan, please pay the full amount of your invoice this time and consider signing up for the draft for next year's dues and fees when it becomes available.
Our water project is moving along nicely. We are installing holding tanks to capture the pool discharge to send to the tennis courts as needed. We also have dug a well to supplement our water needs.
On the down side, we are having problems with the 50 meter or big pool's pumping system. There is also a leak in that pool. We are addressing those problems.
Our Club is only as good as we members make it. Visit our website, www.hamiltonlakes.org to see the list of committees and chairpersons to contact if you are able to assist on one or more of our committees.
Thanks for making Hamilton Lakes Swim and Tennis Club the best in town. We look forward to the pool and tennis season of 2010.
